Horizontal Directional Drilling

Our Methodology

The process includes three distinct phases.

Drilling begins with a pilot hole from the surface on one side of the obstacle to be crossed. Drilling follows a designed profile below and beyond the obstacle to exit at the surface on the other side. Pilot hole
The second phase entails the reaming of the pilot hole to a diameter sufficiently large enough to accept the pipeline or conduit. Preream
Finally the pipeline or conduit is pulled into place within the enlarged hole. Pullback

HDD Project Footprints

The footprint or area required is governed by the size of the HDD project. Small projects only require a small drilling rig with minimal support equipment.

Small Footprint

Larger projects, on the other hand require a far greater spread.

Large Footprint

Typical large HDD rig workspace.
